I bought one of the replica spoilers from amz when I had my Z repainted. The spoiler came and was simply a terrible mold, it didn't fit in any way, and the threads to bolt the spoiler onto the hatch popped out with a meer wiggle when the bolts started to thread in. I got in contact with amz, and after a very long 4 weeks, a new spoiler arrived (as in yesterday!). I take it over to the paint shop, and we can see right away that this mold was much better, and the threads were fastened into the fibberglass a lot stronger. But the same problem occurred. This new wing doesn't fit either. It has no curve that the hatch has, it wants to "teeter" when it rests on the hatch. Also, the new spoiler's threadings don't mathch up to the first wing i recieved. Now the freshly painted hatch has a whole in the driver side that doesn't line up anymore :( This has been a very painful purchase and I'm not trying to expose anyone. Amz did tell me they have had no problems with the other 30 wings they have sold, so i am wondering if anyone can give me any feedback or tips on how they installed theirs??? The first wing was grinded a little to try to give it a curve to rest on the hatch a little more naturally, but it didn't help too much, and like i said, the threading were too weak to work with anyways. So my painter doesn't really want to start grinding on the new wing simply because it is in better shape originally that the first wing we have. My painter measured a few things and told me that the top half of the wing is correct under the oem specs, but the underside is way off, he said when he measrued it out, it is way to small to fit with the body lines of the car. He fears if he starts to work on this one, the same results will happen. The only thing i can think of, and i believe this to be out of the question (hopefully i'm wrong), is that there is a difference between a tt hatch and an Na hatch (When i had the car repainted in bought a used na hatch and rear bumper for my tt) kinda sounds rediculous because i wouldn't know why nissan would do something like that, and also because i can't find anything about that subject anywhere. But my painter and i are at a loss. I need some help. If anyone has any kind of info about how these relpica wings (90-93 stlye) fit, please let me know. this is the only thing that is keeping my freshly painted Z from me. thanks.
